Renowned jazz saxophonist André Ward brings his exceptional musicianship and extensive touring background to City Winery Nashville for a gospel and jazz brunch presented by Tennessee State University Alumni and Lovenoise.
The Chicago-bred jazz virtuoso earned himself a place at Tennessee State University where he co-founded the quartet Act IV, winning a Budweiser-sponsored contest with their single “The Pulse.” He further honed his skills at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston. He then built a successful career touring with renowned artists like Will Downing and Freddie Jackson. He’s had three albums achieve Top 10 status on the Contemporary Jazz Albums chart, and his latest album “AFRICA RISING” is poised to follow suit. The record features tributes to Ward’s musical influences including Earth, Wind & Fire, The Emotions, and Sade.
